Top 10 Things I Learned from Rob

1.  Garmin "GPSmap76CSx" - the first ones to arrive to the course, received the good GPS units. It is sensitive to overhead canopies (ie trees); but the Colorado is the best, also saw different gps gadgets, from inexpensive to very expensive..the dog gps is useful for some people.
2. Learned how to change from UTM to Lats/Longs, and how to calibrate a compass, create tracks and create waypoints.
3. It was fun to search with the coordinates that Rob gave us. Then we had to hide the slip of paper for our partner to find with the coordinates we give them from our GPS.
4.  It was awesome to learn about Geocaching!!  The climb up Mouse Mountain was scenic; it was sunny and the snow was not deep; it was hard for me but I am glad I made the choice to climb the mountain.
5. Generating a 3D map; which is already on my blog.
6. Creating a buffer zone around the Goshawk Nest - promimity zone.
7. Learned how to use OziExplorer; hope Rob gets us the program where we could upload a photo to our tracks and waypoints.
8. How to import a Kml file from Google Earth.
9. How to set up Gridline and to do area calculations.
10.  How to position and set waypoints on a map.

Thank you to Rob for teaching us a new set of skills and hope we can do this next year.
