Today, we used ArcCatalog to create new shapefiles and save all the scanned map images. Neil scanned most of the maps for us...so thank you.
In ArcMap we digitize the following maps: Woodlot Licence; Burns Lake trails, Trout Lake FSR and Small Scale Salvage Map, and we used polylines to create trails and polygon to create the woodlot boundaries.
The shapefiles we used were from Marlene Flannery (CSTC): GISStellaten Waterlines, Transportation and Waterbodies.
The first map we did, we had to change the decimel degrees to decimel minutes seconds and plot our coordinates from the four corners of the scanned map. It is very time consuming work, but in the end, hard work conquers all.
